VILLAGE MODULE 01
The convener's own village and the template for One Village at a Time. The former Boria VDC, once nine wards, now lives in two local governments: Rajbiraj Municipality Ward 16 and Bishnupur Rural Municipality Ward 5. Understanding this one village deeply, its land, water, people, school, shrines and songs, is how the campaign learns to understand every village.

Every village module documents the same eight threads. Each gets a baseline write-up, then live tracking as work begins. Progress below reflects documentation status and moves as the office publishes each baseline.
Two series connect the village and its leadership: Gaamak Baat (गामक बात), village conversations that build familiarity with the people, and Jani Apan Neta (जानी अपन नेता), knowing your leaders and shaping a shared vision.
"Jani Apan Neta" means knowing your leaders — a start on who represents Boria's wards, drawn from the campaign's own field record. This list is incomplete by design; it grows as more is confirmed.

The module follows the Comprehensive Village Development Model prepared for Ward 16, spanning governance, economic and social pillars, monitored through community scorecards and aligned to the SDGs.
Baseline surveys and GIS mapping begin alongside governance training, with urgent health post upgrades and school repairs and a pilot vocational training and microfinance programme.
Roads and drainage works follow, along with scaled-up health services and school development, agricultural modernisation and irrigation, and waste management and solar lighting.
Social inclusion and GESI campaigns take priority, alongside an entrepreneurship hub and incubation support, organic farming, and community tourism assets and cultural events.
Services transition to local institutions as monitoring and grievance systems are strengthened and a climate resilience assessment is carried out.
Handover to community and ward bodies is completed, learning is documented through an After-Action Review, the next five-year plan is drafted, and a local development week exposition marks the close.
The full VDM will be published in the Library as the module's baseline reference once finalised for print.
Where the Ghordah meets its confluence at Sangam Ghat, Majhau, the land holds two sleeping possibilities: a lake, retaining the monsoon waters that today rush past as flood, and micro-hydro potential from the regulated flow. A lake here would mean groundwater recharge, fisheries, a public waterfront for Boria and Rajbiraj, and a defence against both flood and drought, while the drop and flow could light the villages around it.

A sociology dissertation studying in-migration into Boriya VDC (wards 1, 2 and 5) between 2063–2067 BS, covering household demographics, ethnicity, religion, mother tongue, literacy and income among 52 sampled in-migrant households totalling 265 people; an independent, citable academic record of the village predating the campaign.

A village is its land and its people, and the stories they carry. This registry is an effort to map the women and men of Boria who have taken their roots into engineering, medicine, agriculture, hydropower, teaching, banking, policing and public service, among other sectors, and to begin bringing them together for the land they belong to.
